ACO North Waterloo Region was refused permission to speak to Wilmot Council about its decision to demolish the childhood home of Sir Adam Beck (1857-1925) first Chairman (in 1906) of the Ontario Hydro-Electric Power Commission who brought electricity from Niagara Falls and caused Canadians to call it “hydro”. 

Permit issued September 2014, for demolition promised to be precise and "surgical", to salvage artifacts for a monument.
